You don’t have to be attending a concert or event to be able to drop in for a drink, a snack or a meal and take advantage of the views of NewcastleGateshead’s quayside whilst often listening to live music on the Concourse.
Sir Michael Straker Café
Our Sir Michael Straker Café and four bars are located right in the heart of our spectacular Concourse and have unrivalled views of the River Tyne and its surrounding cityscape. The Sir Michael Straker Café serves from early morning until late, offering a wide range of snacks and drinks.
We offer freshly ground coffee that is organic, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance Verified, whilst our in-house bakery produces a range of snacks for everyone. Throughout the day, our café also offers hot food, from freshly made soup to an ever-changing array of hearty hot meals. We also offer free wi-fi* in the building so you can you can come and use our facilities whilst having a cup of tea or bite to eat.
The Brasserie
The Brasserie opens daily from 12noon until 4pm and 5pm until 10pm, offering a two course lunch menu from £12 or a three course lunch menu from £15.
Our pre-show menu is designed especially for those attending a performance and is served from 5pm – 7pm on show nights.
We have a seasonal à la carte menu available from 7pm on show nights and 5pm on non-show nights.
We also offer the chance to pre-order drinks or something from the dessert menu for the interval or post show. The dessert menu is offered to for those who like to take an easy pace when dining from the à la carte menu or those who just have a sweet tooth.
With last orders at 10pm, dining after a concert is a great alternative.
The Brasserie is open for traditional Northumberland Sunday roast between 12noon and 3pm and is ideal for a family celebration.

Bars
Our four bars offer a range of drinks, including a selection of local guest real ales at Hall Two bar – sometimes we even help to create our own. Interval drinks may be pre-ordered from each bar to avoid the rush, allowing even more time to enjoy the spectacular views from the balconies. Our ice cream is made by Doddington’s Dairy in Northumberland and is free from artificial flavours and colourings. It’s delicious.
We can cater for your special occasions including weddings as well as conferences and corporate events.
*Please note that free Wi-Fi is not available to the public during large scale conferences.
