Gateshead International Jazz Festival 2012

Sing Together: Gateshead International Jazz Festival Choir

Gateshead Old Town Hall

Venue: Gateshead Old Town Hall

Following the beautiful Concourse performance last year, you are once again invited to be part of this year’s Sing Togetether: Gateshead International Jazz Festival choir, led by Richard Scott.

Over two days, the four-part scratch ensemble will learn an eclectic mix of material from across the jazz spectrum, including gospel, jazz standards, blues and world music influences. Bring your love of singing and enthusiasm for learning quickly; sheet music will be provided and you can also learn by ear. You’ll perform on the Concourse on Sunday evening, before Curtis Stigers’ concert – an unmissable opportunity.

Richard Scott, an inspirational vocal leader, is one of the North East’s best kept secrets, both as a vocalist/instrumentalist and choral director.

Rehearsals will take place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th March, between 10am-5pm at Gateshead Old Town Hall. To ensure your place in the choir you must be able to attend both rehearsals.

Performance: Sunday 25th March, 6.30pm on the Concourse at The Sage Gateshead.
