Bach: St John Passion
One of the region’s leading amateur choirs is joined by some of Europe’s finest early music soloists and period instrumentalists in Bach’s great setting of the Passion story. One of the pinnacles of Baroque music, the St John Passion paints an immediate and expressive picture with its moving mix of recitatives, arias, choruses and chorales, here including some rarely heard movements from the version Bach performed in 1725.
